I work there, for my civilian job. I'm studying to be a shinto priest.
[For a Taishou era person like himself, raised around places like it, the shrines and temples are the closest thing to resembling anything he knows from back home. He takes the job pretty seriously too. It's another way he can help people.]
The people there are kind. It can be difficult to explain all of my LILITH-related absences, but they've been very understanding.
[ two years is a long time, especially in this environment where they don't know what's going to happen next, it seems like a serious commitment. how remarkable. ]
Two years can seem long but it's short enough that there's an end in sight too. My final two years in school felt a bit like an eternity but then suddenly it was all over. I'm sure LILITH is willing to compromise when it comes to your education?
[Radiou appreciates these questions, really. Not many adults have taken an interest in his outside life. Mostly just Wriothsely. And Tsurumaru, if he counts as an adult.]
They help cover my frequent absences, but that's already asking a lot. I'm sure LILITH is more concerned with us training more, and fighting the kaiju. I leave plenty of time in my day for training as well, though.
[ this is as hostile an environment as it gets. and while Nanami remains wary of LILITH and the other Outsiders, he can't help but be mildly concerned about this young man. especially after their encounter in Seoul and because Raidou seems to be important to Itadori. ]
Training and fighting would take priority, yes. But if they're smart, they will also accommodate the plans of those who are showing they're in this for the long run. Which you clearly are, are you not?
i forgot about Ratio, so there are a few people now 🩵

How interesting.
Is it very difficult?
no subject
[That's a yes.]
But, I chose the job, and I don't regret it. I like being able to help the civilians there.

But mastering skills and acquiring knowledge does come with a sense of satisfaction.
How much longer until you are a priest?

[Or so it seems to a 17 year old, anyway. It's almost equivalent of taking university course.]
I'm not sure it'll work once they want me to travel to shrines elsewhere to study, but, I suppose I'll worry about it when the time comes.

[He knows he could get sent back at any time, just like Nanami was. And Ren. And Leona. And Ryoji...]
This is my home now as much as the Capital was, and I plan to treat it as such.
